Yes Lara is gorgeous, but there are also so many beautiful black models in the industry.
I feel like there has even been a real effort in the last two years in America to not just have a token black model, but have really diverse models from all races (be it all skinny - but one thing at a time people- Rome wasn't built in one day and the model industry won't change in one day either).
After all, we're talking about money ( lots of it) and vanity here ( lots of that too). The first of which I have not and the second of which, like most of my fashionistas/frugalistas, I have lots!
Which begs the question couldn't this have happened in modern day America?
Here are the photos from the Vogue shoot - Enjoy, Gag, or do whatever you may - which includes leaving a comment to say how you feel!
I'm listening...
Not sure why they think they had to make Lara Stone Dark. Black face is offensive in the US but maybe its not in Europe. There are a lot of black models out there. I guess because Jourdan Dunn is pregnant they decided to go with Lara Stone instead of just getting a black girl. Chanel Iman, Sessilee Lopez, Jamaican beauty Gaye McDonald (a rising star who opened for Paul Smith), Arlenis Sosa, the list goes on.....
ReplyDeleteWe Love Lara she is in my lop 5 list of favorite models but why Vogue why?
Black face is never shiek!!!!
Carine you should have never approved of this shoot. Still think you magazine is a better version than US Vogue!!!
